Campaign Overview

Arthouse Capital Campaign Overview

Arthouse at the Jones Center creates meaningful opportunities to investigate and experience the art of our time through exhibitions, programs and commissions of new work. Support of the Arthouse Capital Campaign will help assure increased, consistent access to experimental contemporary art in Austin and across the state.

The $6.6 million Arthouse Capital Campaign fulfills two long-term, strategic goals:

• Full utilization and renovation of the Jones Center and addition of a 21st-Century landmark on Congress Avenue.

• Creation of a Curatorial Fund* (already funded) and an Opportunities Fund**.

*The $250,000 Curatorial Fund allows Arthouse to engage its first full-time curator as well as augment its exhibition program.

** The $300,000 Opportunities Fund is a venture fund designed to be a catalyst for major, institutional-shaping opportunities. Providing the equivalent earnings power of a $6 million endowment, this fund epitomizes Arthouse’s core reputation for “agility.” This fund is a revolving fund from which the Board’s Executive Committee will periodically authorize programs. Requests for funding also include a plan for replenishing the funds expended. It allows Arthouse to step forward quickly, nimbly, and confidently as the organization further extends its cutting-edge character.
