Robert A. Pruitt

Robert A. Pruitt, Arthouse Texas Prize 2005 finalist, presents his work along with a favorite film, Space is the Place by Sun Ra.


Robert A. Pruitt was born in 1975 in Houston, Texas. He received his BFA from Texas Southern University and his MFA from The University of Texas at Austin. Pruitt currently lives and works in Houston's historic Third Ward where he is the Arts Coordinator at Project Row Houses, a non-profit community arts space. He has exhibited his work at The University Museum at Texas State University; The Dallas Museum of Art; The African American Museum, Dallas; The Contemporary Arts Museum, Houston; The Galveston Arts Center; the Austin Museum of Art; DiverseWorks, Houston; and Artpace, San Antonio. He received first prize in the Lawndale Art Center's Big Show, and was a recipient of The Artadia Award in 2004. Robert A. Pruitt is represented by Clementine Gallery, New York.
