Click here to make a donation to the Emergency Relief Fund for Texas Artists. Thank you!
You may or may not be aware, but Arthouse has an Emergency Relief Fund for Texas-based artists who have experienced an unforeseen emergency that affects their ability to work. This fund is modest, and due to the devastation caused by Hurricane Ike we are receiving more inquiries than usual and need your help. We know these are challenging times, but please consider donating any amount today - with your help we can make a real difference in artists' lives.
In addition to helping build a more receptive audience for contemporary artists' works, Arthouse provides a number of services to Texas artists including:
- access to affordable health insurance
- emergency assistance grants
- benefits of credit union banking at AMFCU or membership banking at Wells Fargo
- Arthouse News, a bi-annual newsletter provides artists and viewers with a listing of exhibitions around the state, as well as grant and fellowship opportunities
For information on health insurance opportunities, please contact Global Benefit Solutions at 512.533.9936, or www.globalbenefitsolutions.com
Arthouse has established the Emergency Relief Fund to provide financial assistance to Texas artists who have experienced an unforseen health or property disaster which prevents their normal production of art. Applicants must be full time artists. For more information contact info@arthousetexas.org, or call 512.453.5312.

How can I show my work at Arthouse?
Arthouse’s exhibitions are curated and Arthouse is generally unable to consider artists' work for exhibition in the near future, however, our curator is always interested in looking at new work. You may send slides or a cd-rom of images of your work, along with a cv, to: Elizabeth Dunbar, Curator Arthouse at the Jones Center 700 Congress Avenue Austin, TX 78701. Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope for the return of your materials.
Please note: Only mailed submissions will be reviewed. Please do not email your submission.
Additionally, please feel free to send Arthouse announcements when your work is exhibited to keep Ms. Dunbar familiar with your current activities.
There are two Arthouse programs that currently accept public submissions of work. One is the annual "New American Talent," which is juried each year by an art world professional, and the second is the annual benefit exhibition, 5x7. Call-for-entry forms for "New American Talent" will be available on our website in October. Submission deadline is mid-January. 5x7 is a benefit exhibition that takes place every spring. Arthouse invites hundreds of contemporary artists with strong Texas ties to donate 5" x 7" works of art. Each is displayed anonymously and each sells for $100. Proceeds benefit Arthouse's exhibitions and programs. In return for their donation, artists receive a complimentary one-year membership at the artists level to Arthouse, as well as discounted admission to the fund-raiser preview party. If you would like to be invited to participate in 5x7, please email your mailing address to Jennifer Gardner at info@arthousetexas.org.
